I want to start full contact MMA but have never trained in fighting before. Is there any certain class i should look into taking? (kickboxing, kejukembo, ..)

find a place that teaches at least 1 grappling art and one striking art preferably for grappling something like sambo, judo, or bjj and for striking san shou, mauy thai, or boxing wrestling would be good to but i know where i live most the instructors wrestled and Incorporated it into the bjj class.
….aaahhh, what the UFC has done to our culture….
Find a martial art that you’re interested in and train till you have a blackbelt, then find a different martial art and do the same. A black belt means that you are ready to begin (Don). Get some experience fighting, and training, not fighting in a basement with your friend. Learn the basics behind training, the reason, the application, the foundaiton, then start mixing them together to build an MMA style. Experience is important. That’s what MMA is. You have to be a martial artist before you can know how to mix multiple martial arts.
My friend and I are going to start doing some MMA things in my basement. But we’re 100% serious about it. We’re getting a wrestling mat, some open-ended gloves, and headgear. But because we’re both wrestlers, and amateur boxers, we know how to do a lot of the MMA things. I would suggest starting with wrestling and boxing every other day for a few weeks. Then go to a kickboxing club with those two. But before any of that GET IN SHAPE, don’t show up to the gym and not be able to do anything.
not sure if a black belt is so necessary. experience is the most important thing. i was doing very well against black belts back when i had a blue belt because i had studied several styles and had trained in boxing. in fact, when i was taking a japanese style, i was consistnetly defeating my own instructor. black belts are overrated. matt hughes and many other mma fighters don’t even have one. so, my suggestion is to learn as much as possible, but muay thai is a great way to go.
Oh god, you and the first person who replied to this need a serious reality check.
First of all it’s called “MIXED martial arts” as in, more than one form. You need to train in several of them.
Ugh, all you people who see the UFC or that stupid movie “Never Back Down” and get the idea you’re going to be a MMA fighter makes me want to cry.
kickboxing and wrestling or jiu-jitsu which ever is available
kickboxing is definitely a good standup option
also just make sure that you are getting enough cardio in and lifting
good luck
Ordinarily I would say take testosterone treatments. But you obviously have no femininity.
